#FridayFlash - 6 Word Story

I've fancied trying having a go at this for a while and so, in place of the usual UCF Stories (which will return next week), I am pleased to present my attempt at the six word story:

Trial by jury. Bring your toothbrush.

Brief and suggestive. Good one, Sam.

Great job in only 6 words. It made me laugh. If you can evoke emotion in 6 words, you're King! :)

Some trials are a hassle. There was one that ended last year that had gone on so long the sequestered jurors didn't know what the internet was.

Hah! Those six words say a lot.

It's hard to get just six words to be a complete story, but you did it right. I got a giggle out of this. Well done!

Thanks for the great comments. The inspiration for this story came from a barrister I know (not professionally I hasten to add!) who told me the story of a young criminal who was told by a judge that if he ever appeared in front of the same judge again, he would go to prison and should bring his toothbrush.

About eighteen months later the lad was in court again and came in front of the same judge. When asked if he had anything to say, the lad reached into his jacket pocket and produced his toothbrush.

The judge simply nodded.

It never hurts to be prepared. :)

You've done very well with this, Sam. It is rather hard to write something that says hints at the whole story in only six words.

I would offer you chocolate but...you know. ;D

Aw that's just genius!

The story behind the story is as amusing as you six words. You drew me a chuckle. :D

This was a scary story, considering I was called for two months of federal jury duty this past summer, then got bumped until November and December.

Great job! These are so difficult. I wrote one once lost it when EditorUnleashed crashed. I think you nailed it.

That is truly fantastic. :) Ha! And this is such a difficult medium and you did it. Nice.
